In this journey of life, we lose people, we lose things, we face heartbreaks, we face rejections but still we love to continue the journey. Do you know, why? Because hope is much bigger against everything combined and while you hope and cherish life, all we can do is continue living, loving as much as we can and having most moments filled with laughter.
So Live. Love. Laugh!
Well, that should sum up my post, isn’t it? No, it doesn’t, fortunately!
This is something so broad and vivid that we cannot justify in some few sentences and paragraphs. Just like one of my favourite philosopher Albert Camus has said In absurdist philosophy, the Absurd arises out of the fundamental disharmony between the individual’s search for meaning and the meaninglessness of the universe.
To simplify his philosophy, he means that our life is gone in disharmony between finding our life’s value, purpose, meaning and everything between. This is to say that, it takes great effort to take out the meaning of everything we do. Something which seems so easy but it’s not!
In this post, I would just like to illustrate why did I get inked with ‘Live. Love. Laugh’ and what does this means to me.
Well, I think I am in no position to explain what is living exactly due to its vivid nature and literally millions of different definitions depending on your perception towards it. But let me tell you what is Living for me.
I think for me, Living is growth, its something we do whether we want it or not, whether we are good at it or we are not. It is inevitable to say that we all live till we die and this might seem super silly statement but I think if you look closely, it makes much more sense! Because death is not in your hands, but living sure is.
Being said this, living is a sum of your choices, your fate and your reactions to things which you can never change. This makes you partially owner of the actions you do and things you achieve with whatever you are given and from where you start. For sure, some of us will always have an unfair advantage, but most of us have to make hard choices and take risk of failing to achieve that. I think life is a journey and living is how you shape your role in it.
So for me, living is an amazing journey of growth where I would fail, I will fall, I will break, but I also stand a chance to win, to do more, to shape my role as much as I can with all the odds I have!
Loving is an extremely important part of our life’s and we just cannot live without it! From being with a loving mother at the start of our life to having someone to take care of us at the end, we all go through so many different love cycles, from romantic love to parenthood love, but we as social animals need to be connected to people in ways we can.
If you do not believe how much love and sharing is important in life, please go and watch a movie called ‘Into The Wild’ where this guy ‘Decides to renounce all his possessions and hitchhike across America. During his journey, he encounters several situations which change him as a person.’ and it is based on a true story.
I think the best part of love is that we are genetically designed to do it from start to end of our life. Some people may go numb from time to time with the experiences they have, but it somehow resurfaces it as part of our biology and give us another chance to love the people who we care about. Even if you see most numb people, they ought to love something, maybe pets, maybe plants, or maybe something which keeps them afloat. This is inevitable. This is simple anatomy.
So I think even after heartbreaks, after broken close friendships, after splitting from family, love may fade, but it never disappears and you will always find someone or something to love and cherish because hope creates love and people who don’t lose hope, don’t lose opportunities to love. This is an ugly beauty of love. Ugly for people who lose hope once and stops believing in love, beautiful for people who cherish as a part of the journey.
Well, we all know how important is to feel happy and have laughter in your life. We all have seen wonders of having laughters with our friends, family, everyone we love. It makes us closer, it makes us content, it makes us peaceful.
As they say, Laughter is the sound of the soul dancing, which I believe is very true, because when you have enough laughter in your day and overall in your life, you make most out of it. I personally think laughter is a ‘Green’ progress bar in your life which keep telling you your healthy zone score, in another way, how much time of your day is spent in harmony, contentment and laughing about anything. If you spend at least 40% of your day having a good smile and laughter, you win!
As we all have heard, ‘Laughter is a best medicine’, is very true, but don’t take my word for it, because even science backs it up. A good, hearty laugh relieves physical tension and stress, leaving your muscles relaxed for up to 45 minutes after. Laughter boosts the immune system. Laughter decreases stress hormones and increases immune cells and infection-fighting antibodies, thus improving your resistance to disease.
So I think, it’s really an amazing combo to have a meaningful life where you take life as a journey, you as a role, love as a hope to keep moving forward and laughter as your daily scorekeeper. I think this is the reason I have got myself Inked with ‘Live. Love. Laugh’, because every day when I wake up in this life, I want to be reminded of this philosophy and live by it every moment I can!
